Romans chapter 14, verse 19. So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
Paul the Apostle says to us, this is one of our aims. We can go after this. We can do things that create peace. We’re not merely keeping peace. We are creating it.
And we are also doing things that are building people up. So we’re seeking the betterment of everyone in the world and in particular, those who we directly affect and influence – our neighbours, our family, our communities.
As we’re meditating on this verse, we should ask ourselves, well, what does this mean for me? What is it that I should be doing? What changes should I make that aim at peace and for the upbuilding of those around me?
It can be something as simple as determining that wherever you go you will smile whether you feel happy or not. Knowing that a smile can brighten someone else’s day.
