Some will depart from the faith. That’s what we’re seeing, isn’t it? In the 2021 UK census, 46 percent of the population described themselves as Christian. And that might sound like a good number to you, but in 2011, the figure was 59%. So we’ve lost 13 percent in 10 years. But the Spirit expressly told us this would happen.

And what are they believing instead? They’ve turned to deceitful spirits. They’ve been caught up in the insincerity of liars. Isn’t that what we’ve been talking about?

Morality and truth have been eroded. People have turned away from the church to other things, other beliefs they think will satisfy them.

Paul mentions the forbidding of marriage. Well, perhaps we’re not quite there yet. But we are certainly pressurised to celebrate other forms of relationships, non biblical approaches to love, sexuality and child raising.
