Let me pray for you now, my friend. Lord God of all peace, I ask you to minister to the heart of your precious child right now. Please cause your peace to descend and fill this place of meditation. And now, as your child settles down for sleep, would you please bring a true and deep understanding of your care for this child of yours, how your love is complete and mighty and your rest is divine and given freely.
All through this period of sleep, Lord, please bring protection for the mind and healing for the body. You have given us sleep as a blessing and we thank you for that blessing.
I ask, Lord, that the sleep will be restful, and that a sense of peace and safety will remain in the waking hours, and as the next day begins.
You are glorious and merciful, and we praise and trust you, Father God.
