When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Now our experience of Christians is that in this life we will have troubles. And Jesus of course said, take heart I’ve overcome the world, meaning that these troubles will eventually end. But what the Psalmist is inspiring us to do here is to cry out for help to the Lord, because we know and we believe that he hears. And sometimes the Lord’s deliverance comes quickly when we cry out to him.
Of course, whenever we pray to God, we have to pray in humility, accepting that his timing is perfect and ours is not. And accepting that sometimes God will take us through the trials. But this should not stop us doing what the Psalmist suggests we should do, which is to cry for help.
