Today’s meditation really put a smile on my face, and I hope it will do the same for you. Malachi chapter 4, verse 2. But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

This is talking about the end times, how the evil are going to go into destruction and the righteous are going to go into eternal joy. And I just love that metaphor that we’re going to go out leaping like freshly released, joyful, exuberant baby cows from their stalls.

And prior to that, the sun, that’s S U N, the sun of righteousness, shall rise with healing in its wings. So we will be completely healed from everything, including the diseases of the mind and the heart and the spirit. We will be healed completely. We will have reason to leap.

And I think to my son, Morgan, who was profoundly disabled, who died just last month when I’m recording this, he now can leap like those beautiful calves from the stall. He is no longer constrained by his physical earthly body. And we’re going to be like that.

What an absolute delight. What a treasure. What joy we have to look forward to. And I hope that that keeps you going. As it does me through what remains of our lives.

God, bless you for your promise to us. And we know that your promise is trustworthy. Amen.
