You can break down today’s meditation into three sections. It’s Psalm 105 verse 1 and it says, O give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples. So number one, give thanks to the Lord. That’s where we start. We start with gratitude. That’s a really good way to start the day, isn’t it?

Wake up. Thank you, God, you’ve given me another day, another opportunity, another opportunity to serve you, another opportunity to receive your grace, and thank you, as always, for your salvation. Call upon his name. What does calling upon his name look like? It’s proclaiming who he is.

God, you are mighty, you are magnificent, you are powerful, you are all knowing, you are just, you are loving. I call out to Yahweh, the King of my life.

And three, the hard one, make known his deeds among the peoples. When was the last time you told someone what God has done for you? When was the last time you made reference to the death and resurrection of Jesus and all that means for us?

Let’s pray for boldness to be able to speak out these things, to let the people know the deeds that God has done that make him so worthy of praise and adoration.

Lord, we’ve seen what we must do. Please help us to go out in your power and the confidence that the Holy Spirit gives us to speak with boldness of you, of who you are, of all that you’ve done, and of how wonderful it will be to be in eternal fellowship with you.

Amen.
