Here’s a beautiful verse from the Psalms. Psalm 32, verse 7. You are a hiding place for me. You preserve me from trouble. You surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah.

Did you ever have a favourite place to hide as a child? Somewhere where you knew no one would find you. You’d be safe. I used to have a cupboard that I liked to hide in with a stack of magazines and a torch and I’d just be on my own, safe and snug, in my own little world.

God is our hiding place. God is the place where we can shut everything out. Just focus on Him. Just focus on the one who loves us.

Now we know that Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble." But he also said, "Take heart, for I have overcome the world." We are eternally saved by the one who holds everything together.

And being surrounded with shouts of deliverance. That’s like having a ring of people around us going, "Wow! Hooray! It’s God, he’s coming! He saved us! He’s protected us!" He’s the one who has our best interests, always at heart.

I don’t know what you have to face today, my friend. But whatever it may be, remember that you have a hiding place to which you can always return, where you will be safe and preserved. Let us all put our trust in God.

Thank you, God, for your salvation. Thank you for your love and your care towards us. Thank you for being our hiding place, the safest place in all the universe. We love you. Amen.
