Today’s meditation is on Isaiah chapter 40, verse 31. But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
This beautiful, familiar, highly poetic passage is a go to, isn’t it, in times of trouble? I can testify in my life to the refreshing that comes from God as we lean into Him. The spiritual strength, that He provides when we wait on Him.
It seems counterintuitive, doesn’t it, that when we are running out of energy, that when we’re running out of time, the thing that we need to do is to press in, in prayer and meditation with all our remaining energy.
God loves it when we spend time with him, meaningful time. And waiting on the Lord is really good for us. That’s why we’re spending this time together, you and I, two minutes a day, so that we can wait on God, listen to Him, take this meditation further into our day. I don’t know what your day holds, but I’m sure it will help if you are mounting up with wings like eagles’ today.
Let’s press into God. Let’s meditate. Let’s chew this over and accept from God the strength that he brings. Grace for today and bright hope for tomorrow.
Thank you, God, for your word and for your strength and your encouragement. Amen.
