Let’s get some encouragement from the Word of God today. 1 John, chapter 5, verse 4. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.
Do you ever feel like you are not overcoming? You are not walking in victory. I mean, that’s a lot of the time, isn’t it for us, generally. We don’t necessarily feel that we’re on top of things all the time.
But John says, we who have been born of God, we have received that rebirth, the Holy Spirit’s in us, we’re the ones overcoming the world. We’re overcoming the principalities and powers. We’re overcoming the sinful principles that govern the kingdom of darkness.
We’ve overcome that through our faith. And what is it that overcomes? Well, if you look around, there is despair. There’s evil, there’s wickedness, there’s lies. People don’t understand what truth is anymore.
We are the ones who have truth. We are the ones who can have joy. We are the ones who can have peace that is inexplicable.
And it’s all from reading this, and having a relationship with our God. He is the one who is giving us that victory. Peace, joy, faithfulness, lovingkindness. All of these things are victorious attributes that God gives us through our faith.
So the next time that you feel like you’re losing, or I feel like I’m losing, let’s get ourselves back into the Word and see what it tells us about ourselves and about our Almighty Heavenly Father. Are you with me?
