Well, this is a great prayer from King David. Let’s contemplate it, meditate on it and pray it with David today. Psalm chapter 29, verse 11. May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!
Friends, when we put our trust in Jesus Christ, we become his people. And so this prayer, this prayer of David prayed all those centuries ago applies to us. David prays that the Lord’s people will be strengthened.
And we can join with him in that prayer today by asking for strength for the people of God. We absolutely need it. I don’t know what you are facing individually or in your community today, but this is a world in crisis. This is a world separated from God. We need strength today, tomorrow, for the future.
And we also ask that the Lord bless us with peace. We all seek peace, don’t we? Ultimately war, carnage, chaos, these are not desirable. Not now, not ever.
And so we absolutely want God to bless us, his church, and also our neighbours and our communities, with peace. Peace has a way of spreading. If we are at peace, we can take that peace to others.
So will you my friend, pray this prayer with me today? May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace! Amen.
