Do the leaders claim that God has given them specific direction? And it’s okay to hear specific direction from God, but if they claim that, do they then use that to bypass accountability? Do they say, well, it doesn’t really matter what you think. It doesn’t really matter what the elders say. God has told me this, so that’s what we’re going to do.

Are volunteers in the church showing signs of burnout or depression? Look at Ezekiel chapter 34 verses two to five. “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them, even to the shepherds, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Ah, shepherds of Israel, who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep.'”
