When we’re praising God, we are giving glory to him, which is the whole purpose of us and this universe. We are filling our hearts with truth, our minds with truth. We praise something that has wonderful merits, particularly something that we perceive to be better than us. So we praise God, of course, because he’s so much better than us in every single respect.
And we can praise God corporately, which unites us as Christians across denominations. Every single Christian on the planet should be able to sing the words I praise you, God, you are holy.
So it unites us. It inspires us, and it gives us that power, that praise generates within. It fills us with joy and with boldness. Praise is the fuel of life.
