When we look at what Jesus did and the love that he poured out for the unlovely, including us who didn’t deserve it, that is inspiring.
But inspiration is not enough because still in our own strength we can’t do this. We cannot be steadfastly, continually loving and faithful. We absolutely have to press into and lean on God’s strength, the strength that he gives us for this task.
So let us take this verse to heart and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with that love and that faithfulness, both of which are characteristics of his Fruit that he’s growing in us, so that we can be fruitful for the Kingdom of God.
