My son do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves as a father, the son in whom he delights.
The main reason that God is even disciplining us is because he loves us. He’s interested in us. He cares about our growth and development.
And because of this, he’s not indifferent. He won’t leave us as we are. He will change us. He puts his Holy Spirit in us to grow his Fruit. He allows the circumstances of life to challenge and change us.
Don’t pull away from that. Embrace it. Don’t let this discipline wear you down. This genuinely is for your good.
It is because God is a loving Father that he wishes to lead us through discipline, both painful and not so painful. And in this way, and sometimes through suffering, he allows us to grow more and more like Jesus.
