This is the Bible meditation for Christmas Day, and you may not be watching this on Christmas day, but I would say please stick with me anyway because it will be worth it. We’re meditating today on Psalm chapter 34, verse 22. The Lord redeems the life of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Now, it’s slightly mind blowing to me that this verse was written a long time before Jesus came to earth. And the psalmist could already see that what the Lord was doing was paying for the life of those who trust him. Those who take refuge in God weren’t to be condemned, and he saw this prophetically with the eyes of faith.

This is the truth in which we live: that God is redeeming us, those of us who are his servants, those of us who have pledged ourselves to him, those of us who have said, Jesus, I accept you, forgive me my sin, and take me as your friend and brother. Having done that, we are in the position of being those who take refuge in God. We are protected by God. Nothing the world, the devil or our flesh can do, will ever tear us away from God.

And we will not ultimately be condemned. When the final judgment happens, God will look at us and say, there is no sin on your balance sheet. You are free and clear. Now enter into my rest. This is an incredible promise to us, a promise that we receive every day of our lives once we’ve accepted Jesus and no less than on Christmas day.

Let me take this opportunity of thanking you for spending this time with me to meditate. May God bless you. Merry Christmas.
