God is a holy God and holiness and justice demands punishment.
There’s a way out of this for everyone. By accepting what Jesus did so that the punishment that should fall on us fell on him instead, but we only benefit from that, if we say, yes, Jesus, I accept you. If we continue to say, no, God, I’m not interested in you, then he eventually will say, my son, my daughter, this makes me sad, but so be it.
As I said, a sobering word, but we shouldn’t shy away from anything that’s in our Bible. It’s there for our instruction and our training. It’s there to lead us into truth.
