In this life, there’s a lot of waiting, isn’t there, my friends. The entire Jewish nation, were waiting for the Messiah to come, which happened when Jesus arrived on this earth. There is a message for all of us who continue to wait for many things.

Psalm 27, verse 14. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take courage. Wait for the Lord.

So my friends, whatever situations we find ourselves in, a core principle that it is worthy for us to adhere to is that of waiting for God. Before we do a thing, anything, let us wait for the Lord to give us guidance and direction.

Sometimes he doesn’t give us specific guidance and direction. He allows us to move forward on the basis of the wisdom that he’s given us as he’s taught us and allowed us to grow. Nevertheless, wait first for the Lord and see if he will say anything. And if you are in a position where rescue is needed, wait for the Lord because one way or another he takes care of his children.

Let us be strong. Let our hearts take courage. Though this life may be traumatic and distressing, ultimately it will feel like a passing memory, a fleeting memory once we’ve gone to be with our maker in the next life. But many blessings of God are for the here and now, if only we will be patient and wait for him.

My friends. Wait for the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart take courage. Wait for the Lord.
