Jeremiah, chapter 33 verse three: Call to me and I will answer you and I will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
This is God speaking about himself to Jeremiah. And from this we see the personality and character of God that he wants to reveal himself to us. But also he wants us to ask him to do that.
He says, call to me and I’ll answer you. Be in relationship with me and I will show you more things about myself. And this is one of the reasons why Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit, so that he would teach us and guide us and lead us in to more truth.
One thing that we know with certainty though, our guardrail here, is that the Holy Spirit will never tell us anything that contradicts scripture. Because scripture issued forth from the same source, that is, God.
So we are encouraged then to call out to God to hold his word and read it and to speak to him and listen to the Holy Spirit who will reveal things to us that we don’t previously know. We are all on a journey of faith, and part of that journey is increasing in our knowledge of God. And there is so much about this vast and incredible being our God, that we have yet to learn.
