God made this vast, beautiful, incredible universe for his pleasure, and also for ours. We’re made in his image so we can take pleasure in the things that delight him. When he made nature, he saw what he’d made and he said it’s good.
Now, admittedly, we see a fallen world now, but still when you look out in nature, isn’t there so much that’s wonderful and cheering? When you look up to the stars, doesn’t your soul burst?
God consolations are intended to cheer our souls. So when the cares of our hearts are many, we should pause, stop, look back at the Bible, look back at the world that God has created, and look to our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and remember that his consolations can and do cheer our souls.
