Sometimes we look at ourselves and we say, I’m not very like Jesus at all. But even that can be evidence that we’ve become more aware of the way in which we’re different and how we need to grow and that turns us to prayer, to ask God to continue his work.
So the Spirit within us starts to grow his Fruit. You know, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, all of that is the work of the Holy Spirit in us. It’s part of the evidence that he’s living in us and that we partake of the Spirit of God.
So if you’re looking for some kind of guarantee this is it. The Holy Spirit in us at the point of conversion and onwards. By the Spirit given to us, we know that Jesus is abiding in us and we are abiding in him.
