Do you feel imprisoned, in bondage, shackled, unduly limited right now? Well buckle up because you are to be set free by today’s verse. Two Corinthians chapter three, verse 17. Now, the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Our God is spirit. Liberated spirit. When we think of spirit, we think of something without any constraints. We can’t see the Spirit. The Spirit is everywhere. The Spirit of God is omnipresent. And so by definition, this Spirit of God is completely free.
And the Bible tells us that when we accept Christ into our lives, he sends his Spirit to dwell inside us, to live within us. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, that’s in you, if you’ve accepted Jesus, there is freedom.
Do you want to get free? Then get the Spirit! In many ways, it’s as simple as that.
And I’m not trying to belittle or dismiss many of the limitations that we have in our lives. I’m not saying that by accepting Christ, suddenly those of us who can’t walk will be able to walk, or those of us who are literally in prison will suddenly be set free from that literal prison.
No, this is about how God this transforms you from within. If you have a persistent sin that you are struggling to let go of, your route out of that, your route into freedom from sin is via the Spirit of God.
Jesus came to set captives free, to proclaim liberty. Do you feel the liberty of God right now? If not, press in. Seek God. Ask for His Spirit to work more in your life and you will be free. This is a guarantee from scripture to you.
