Transcript

“God is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

And we have to meditate on this verse to get some kind of understanding of what this means to us. God is spirit. He’s not physical. We can’t actually see him physically with our eyes unless he chooses to reveal himself to us in that way.

So we therefore have to move in faith in order to worship him as someone we can’t see or perceive directly with our senses. We are moving in the realm of faith. But we’re not doing this as something that people might call “blind faith”, that we have no idea who God is or what he’s about. No, we have lots of revelation by God of himself in the pages of the Bible, in the creation that we see around us, in the witness, in our spirits.

So we rely on all of these things to step out in faith and to worship him.
