Time and time again, we have to raise our hands to heaven and say, God, please help me, because I can’t help myself. Please continue to grow your Fruit in me. Please continue to transform me. Please continue to cleanse and sanctify me. Please continue to model me after your Son.
Because the only way, friends that we can be holy as if God makes us holy. And although the cleansing and the washing of the blood of Christ makes us righteous, does it make us holy in all our conduct?
Well, no, because we have ongoing decisions day-to-day and Christians can be guilty of unholy conduct just as much as non Christians. I’m sure you know this to be true.
So we really kind of have to take this on the chin turn our face to heaven and ask for help. Because there is no point trying to do this on our own.
There’s also no reason to come into condemnation when we fail because our guilt has been paid for. And yet still, he’s a holy God and so we should be holy too. That is what he asks of us.
