"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied."
And for me, the last bit of that verse is absolutely emphasised. If we make this principle of righteousness something that we are longing for, as much as we long for food or drink when we’re particularly hungry and thirsty, then we will receive that righteousness. Jesus himself said we would be satisfied. What a blessing that would be to see righteousness come in greater and greater expression in our lives, in our communities, in our nations, in this world.
So then as we meditate on that verse, we ask ourselves, well, how does this apply to me? Am I hungering and thirsting for righteousness? Do I feel that as an intense need? Because if you look around the world, my friends, I’m sure you will agree with me, there is a lack of righteousness out there.
