If we have an idea about what we should do in our lives, we can bring that to scripture.
We can, first of all use scripture to find out whether or not that’s okay for us to do. And then we can use scripture’s suggestion that by the mouths of two or three witnesses, everything shall be confirmed to go to our fellow believers and say, What do you think?
And in this way, God illuminates our path. We find out His will. Also, His will is written large throughout Scripture. We know, because Scripture tells us, how to please Him.
God, please illuminate your scriptures for my friends and for me. May we understand what it is that you’re asking of us. And Lord, please carry on doing your work of transformation in our lives. For your glory and for the sake of your kingdom. Amen.
