He is lighting our path. That means we don’t always see the full path, miles and miles ahead, but we see the next step. God shows us where to place our foot next.
God gives us knowledge. He gives us wisdom. He’s done that through the Bible, there is much wisdom to absorb all the way through from cover to cover, and also through the working of the Holy Spirit who brings direct revelation to us, words of knowledge and wisdom come from Him.
But most of all for me, it speaks of my salvation. I no longer am a slave to sin. Sometimes, my flesh wants to think otherwise, but I am not a slave to the powers of darkness. I make myself a slave to God and his ways, which are ways of light.
And then when we go and be with God in eternity, when we see His heavenly city, He is described as being the light for that city. In every way God is pushing out darkness, he is making a way for His holiness..
