We like watching TV programs, don’t we, where people are pitted against each other and the best wins. We like to see who’s the strongest, the fastest, the cleverest.
And in all of these measurements, no one comes close to God. Among all the wisest people in the world, out of every single nation, no one approaches his level of wisdom. There is just nobody like God who we will ever meet.
During the time that Jesus was on this earth, people met him, but they didn’t really know who he was in all his glory and splendor. They got a glimpse, they didn’t get the full revelation.
Jeremiah is starting to understand this, and he’s saying there’s nobody approaches you. Really anybody who knows you, God, anybody who knows anything of what you’re like will understand that you must be feared in terms of reverence and awe.
