Your true joy must come from knowing that you have been saved, that you will spend eternity basking in the glory of God. That’s our reason to rejoice.
And it’s helpful for us to remind ourselves of this, because there will be times in life when things are going well, and that makes us happy, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But Jesus says, remind yourself of your real cause for true, lasting, and eternal happiness.
You will have eternal life. You will live forever in the presence of your King. that is reason to rejoice indeed.
Heavenly Father, thank you that we can rest in your promises, and there is no greater promise than this, that we will be with you forever. Amen.
