In our final Advent meditation, going live on Christmas Day in the UK, we focus on the glory of the Incarnation, Jesus coming to earth. This is John chapter 1, verse 14. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

We see three important divine characteristics of Jesus Christ that were present from the moment he set his foot on this earth. We see his glory, glory as the resurrected Christ who ascended to heaven. We see that he is full of grace. He brings gifts to us. The gift, most importantly, of salvation and reconciliation with God.

And he’s full of truth. There is no lie in him. And this is such an important principle for us to understand.

Without truth, everything falls apart. We don’t know where we stand. We don’t know right from wrong. We don’t know what we should do in this world. We don’t even know if our existence is real.

But now we can bask in the glory of Jesus Christ. We can receive his grace and we can listen to all that he teaches us, knowing that it is true and knowing that he will set us on the best possible course, not only for this life, but for the next.

If you happen to be viewing and sharing in this meditation on Christmas Day, maybe take a moment before you get into the big hustle and bustle and just meditate on this verse, which you’ll find in the description, and seek first the face of Jesus.

May God bless you this Advent, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing.
