The Holy Spirit back in Genesis was brooding over the chaos and then emerges all creation. But now, in Luke, we’ve got the Holy Spirit brooding over Mary and then comes forth Jesus Christ.
These are two outstanding acts of God where he interacts with the physical realm, in order to create something of particular significance. First creation, and then the incarnated God, Messiah Jesus.
And so, how is it possible that Jesus could be so holy? Well, how could he not be holy when these are the circumstances of his birth? The holiness of the Holy Spirit came upon Mary, and she conceived, and she gave birth to the Holy Son of God, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus.
