And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call him Jesus."
First of all, an angel’s just appeared to Mary, and this angel is saying, Hey, don’t worry. It’s all cool. Don’t be afraid. What do you think Mary might have felt about that? Oh my goodness, there’s an angel, a messenger of God.
Now Mary was a devout woman and she understood that this was a true message coming from the real God. But how her heart must have been touched to know, to hear, that from the most important person in her life she had received favour.
