Romans chapter 10 verse 9. Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Paul says it’s quite simple really to be sure that your salvation is secure. And that is to say that you believe in Jesus, that he is your Lord, that you are submitting to him, step one, and step two to believe that he was resurrected.

This is one of the most fundamental points of Christianity that separates it from other faiths. Jesus Christ became sin for us, went onto the cross for us, died, completely defeating sin and death in the process, and then was raised back to life, and he ascended to heaven. And if we believe that, if we truly believe that, then this is what we need for salvation. Confessing him as Lord, believing he was raised from the dead.

And this isn’t as hard as it might sound to some, I mean, yes, resurrection can seem implausible when we don’t experience it on a day to day basis, but there is plenty of evidence that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead.

Jesus disciples believed that He was raised from the dead. They saw Him in the flesh. They saw Him go up to be with His Father in heaven. The Roman authorities were never ever able to produce Jesus’s body because it wasn’t there, of course. He’d been resurrected.

So then we believe in his resurrection and we say, we proclaim Jesus Christ is our Lord, which means we are following his way. We are submitting to him as our teacher, our guide, our friend and our brother.

If you are unsure of your salvation today, my friend, the way is open for you and it is straightforward. Meditate on this verse which you’ll find in the description and receive your certainty from the words that God has given to us in the Bible. May God bless you.
