The best thing that can happen to us in this life is that we become more like Jesus. And how’s that going to happen? Paul says this in 2 Corinthians 3 verse 18: And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
We have had our faces unveiled. We see now that we’re all made in the likeness of God. There’s no lack of clarity about that, even though sometimes we seem like pale imitations of God, and we are. He’s glorious.
But the glory is being conveyed on and through us because God chooses to reveal his glory through us. I don’t know how it’s possible for me to help you believe that, but you are glorious. God has made you glorious, my friend.
We are being transformed into the same image, the image of God from one degree of glory to another. This is an increasing thing. The more we become like Christ, the more glorious we are.
And that’s not to our credit. We stand here with humility, being transformed to be more like God, to be more like Jesus. And in that process, His glory is revealed through us.
This is how we become more like Christ. And the thing that we must do, above all else, is to bow the knee and submit and say, Yes, Lord, I will let you change me any way you choose to. Will you pray that with me?
Lord God, thank you that you are transforming us. Please may that continue. I know this means death to self, death to some of our desires, but that death is replaced by a much greater life and God you are praised and glorified in and through this. Please continue Lord, do your work in us. Amen.
