Hello, dear subscribers. Phroneo hit a teeny tiny milestone this month, June 2024. 100 subscribers, Thank you for being with me on this journey.

So I started this in November 2023, and it already feels like, after seven months, I’ve come a long way in knowing even how to do this. I’m not saying I’m particularly good at it yet, but if you look at some of my early videos and compare them to how we are now, hopefully you’ll see there’s a bit of a difference, and that’s not just down to me learning how to do this.

A good friend of mine, Mark Buchanan, is also a YouTuber – y ou can follow his channel, Mark Alexander Buchanan – he has been very kind and he’s given me some of his kit. So, I have some lights from him. I have a teleprompter from him. This microphone came from Mark and made a huge difference to the quality of my audio, thank you, Mark. And then I’ve also been learning how to use various tools and tricks in an effort to keep improving. I hope it shows, but clearly I also have a long way to go.

Over the same period, quite a lot has happened in my personal life. If you’ve been following the channel for a while, you will have heard me mention my boys, Morgan and James. Morgan went to be with Jesus in February, just a few months ago.

And when I started this meditation channel in November, we already knew that Morgan was very profoundly ill. And that was one of the reasons why I started doing this. Because I needed to dig into the word. I needed to meditate. I needed the strength that God only can give us. And now we’re all trying to understand what the new normal is. Going from a family of four to a family of three. Dealing with our grief. Dealing with how life has changed.

God has been with us throughout. And he continues to be with us on this difficult journey that we call life.

One of the most important questions to answer right now as I’m speaking to you is why am I even doing this? So I mentioned that I needed to dig into the Word of God, but why meditation? I mean, I could just do Bible study, couldn’t I?

I was really inspired by listening to something Tim Keller had said about how it makes a huge difference for us to spend more time with just a single verse. That the longer we commit our time to reading a verse, the more insight the Holy Spirit reveals to us. So meditation is so different from Bible study, when we are really focusing and remaining focused on just one small piece of Scripture. And then asking the Holy Spirit to speak to us and seeing what He’ll bring to our mind.

It’s extremely beneficial and it’s one way that we can grow spiritually. And that for me is like a personal crusade and mission, not just for me to grow spiritually, but to help others. It’s a massive force multiplier, isn’t it, YouTube? There’s a lot of dodgy stuff on here, but there’s also some great stuff. And I want to be part of balancing those scales so that there’s good godly content. God willing, that’s what we’re achieving here. And I hope that it is a blessing to you.

So what’s next for Phroneo? We’re seven months in, and I’m hoping that in 12 months, I’ll be able to take stock and see what’s working, what’s not working, what’s helpful, what isn’t so helpful, and what this might transform and grow into. This is a very organic thing for me. I don’t really know where this is heading. Only God knows, doesn’t he?

But once I’ve got 12 months of content, one of the things I’m thinking of doing is producing a meditation journal. A journal for every day of the year, which has a meditation scripture and space for people to write or draw. Would you like something like that? Would you prefer a journal which you could colour in? Let me know in the comments.

But is there anything else that you’d like to see? Is there any aspect of meditation that you’d like covered? I’m really hoping to make this teeny corner of the internet an excellent resource around the subject of meditation, around spending time with God and his word and growing spiritually. That’s the whole purpose.

Finally, I wanted to say thank you so much. Thank you for tuning in. Thank you for spending this time with me and God’s words together. Thank you so much for being my brothers and sisters. Thank you for meditating with me.

Thank you for your love and your support and your encouragement. And thank you for keeping me sharp as iron sharpens iron. May God bless you.
