Description
In Daniel 3:25, we see another in the fire, walking with the God-fearing Israelites. Who was he? What does this mean?
Transcript
Let’s meditate on Daniel chapter 3 verse 25. He answered and said, "But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods."
We’ve got Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego thrown into the furnace for not worshipping the king. And as they are thrown into that furnace, who comes and joins them? This is probably Jesus himself walking with them in the furnace.
They are walking around in the fire. That is unfathomable, isn’t it? They have gone into what must have looked to them like certain death. And before the death, absolute agony. And yet, in that raging furnace, there is Christ walking with them.
I don’t know what sort of challenges and difficulties and persecution and hardships you face. My testimony is, and yours must be too, that He is with us in the fire. He walks with us through that intense, refining, purifying, agonising experience.
He doesn’t leave us alone. He is not distant. He walks with us through it. He comes and holds us, He comes and walks and talks with us. If you are going through the fire today, just reach out. Jesus himself is there right with you. You’re not alone.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are with us in the fire. You love us. You care for us. You protect us. We don’t deserve it. You give yourself to us freely. Thank you, God. Amen.
